Steps in Fixing Damaged Pile Carpet

It is inevitable that the carpets installed in our house will wear and tear as years pass by. Because of this, we must have knowledge on how to fix or how to repair our carpet so that we could immediately fix it and of course without additional costs when we need to outsource it to the professionals who really repair and fix carpets. There are different kinds of materials that we need to prepare before fixing a damaged pile carpet. These materials that we need to gather and prepare are the carpet remnant, roll of double-sided carpet tape, tube of seam adhesive, putty knife, utility knife and a t-square. You also have the option to prepare and to use a cookie cutter which is a special carpeting tool instead of using a utility knife. You may use the cookie cutter to cut through the remnant and carpet that is damaged at the same time and you can do this by twisting it back and forth. After doing, you must line up a pattern on the damaged carpet so that you can position the remnant carpet over the damaged area. If you decided to use your utility knife, you must use the t-square in order for you to create and cut through a pattern on both carpets.

After doing the steps stated above, you must now pull out the damaged carpet by grabbing hold of the chicago patch carpet to pull it out straight. You must place the patch loosely on the hole of the carpet but do not tape it yet because you must first check the direction of the pile. You must compare carefully the look of the patch to the rest of the carpet because you must be placing the patch on the wrong direction through the colors of the carpet.

If this happens, you must change the direction of the patch to match the rest of the carpet. You must keep repositioning the patch until it matches the color and the direction of the rest of the houston stretch carpet. After repositioning the patch, you may now place on the edge of the seam the adhesive tapes. You must also place the double-sided tape on the floor. After doing that, you must now place the patch on the hole of the carpet or on the cut out area of the carpet. Lastly, press the patch firmly on the area so that it will blend with the rest of the carpet.
